Making cross-functional Projects Work Effectively

Project Management Training

Our ‘Pharma and Biotech Project Management’ program takes your people through the elements of product development with an emphasis on management of the process.

The context is set by considering the position of the project within the company’s overall portfolio and then lays out a clear vision of what needs to be accomplished and a shared understanding of how to achieve it. It encourages people to view the project through the eyes of a potential customer and so embraces thinking about in- and out-licensing and working in alliances.

As with all our work, the style of teaching is highly participative, and encourages participants to uncover their understanding by group work involving structured questions and simulations. Didactic input is minimised, but Course materials are comprehensive and can be used as reference back at the work place.

The program will normally focus on:

  • The Project Management Toolkit - target opportunity profiling, business case and scope, planning, resource allocation, schedules and budgets, and risk assessment and management
  • Leader and Team Skills – project start-up, leadership or management?, and team decision making
  • Working in Collaboration – project team dynamics, alliances and partnerships, and effective team meetings
  • The Changing Organisation – why change is difficult and what to do about it, influencing in organisations

In summary, the program addresses the age-old of conundrum of the project: how to balance time, cost and quality, and gives novel insights into achieving this difficult balance by addressing the dynamics of how people can work effectively together.
